Every photo your phone or camera takes carries hidden EXIF data baked into the file: often the exact GPS coordinates where it was shot, the device model, a camera serial number, and timestamps. Re-encoding gives the file a brand-new fingerprint with zero visible change; a horizontal mirror is the single most effective way to break automated image matching (it looks completely natural on most photos); and the optional micro-variations (a pixel of crop, a fraction of a degree of rotation, a whisper of noise) push it further while still looking identical to a human.
